If case you missed it, celebrities were everywhere at this year’s San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.

On March 6, “A Clockwork Orange” actor Malcolm McDowell shook hands with fans at Corbett Canyon Vineyards in Arroyo Grande before settling down for a chat with local movie buffs Jim Dee and Bob Whiteford.

A day later, brothers David Carradine (“Kill Bill”) and Robert Carradine (“Lizzie McGuire”) embraced their Western roots at a tribute to Hollywood stuntmen held at Santa Margarita Ranch.

On March 12, big-time surfers Nat Young and Linda Benson attended Surf Nite at the Fremont theater in downtwon San Luis Obispo.

“Hairspray” director John Waters signed plastic pink flamingos and a scratch-and-sniff card from his movie “Polyester” at a meet-and-greet March 14. The star-studded event featured appearances by Robert Carradine, Oscar winner James Cromwell (“L.A. Confidential,” “The Queen”) and Joe Morton (“Eureka,” “American Gangster”).

Local photographer Abe Perlstein caught it all on film.

Here are just a few of his photos from the 2009 festival. You can see more of his work on his Web site.
